KASNEB Foundation Financing scheme
The main programme implemented by the KASNEB Foundation is the issuance of loans and bursaries to needy students pursuing kasneb qualifications. The Foundation targets applicants from all the forty-seven (47) Counties. Students from a poor background, orphans, Persons with Disabilities and students from marginalized areas struggling financially to meet the cost of studies are eligible for the programme.
Programme implementation
The programme is implemented through a partnership between KASNEB Foundation and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB). It comprises Loan and Bursary components. The loan component facilitates sustainability of the programme.
Fees funded
- Tuition fees – payable to fully accredited training institutions offering kasneb qualifications (public and private universities, tertiary education institutions and the Kenya School of Government campuses). The institutions enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with HELB to be included in the programme.
- Fees payable to kasneb – registration, examination booking, exemption and annual renewal fees.

3.3 Mentorship, Coaching and Internship Programs
Mentorship – Mentorship is a structured, sustained process of enabling kasneb Students and KASNEB Foundation scheme beneficiaries to gain more knowledge and skills to assist them in advancing their professional and personal skills and/or leadership capabilities for more effective job performance, Personal development and career growth.
Coaching – This is an approach where a Mentors supports students and KASNEB Foundation scheme beneficiaries by building their skills, competencies and attitudes . This is done through direction and instruction in order to teach the mentees particular skills (current skills or acquiring new skills) or work towards a set goals. The purpose of KASNEB Foundation offering coaching of scheme beneficiaries is to improve the beneficiaries long term performance in their personal and professional lives..
Mentors -Are specialists and experienced persons in different professional fields who seeks to pass skills, expertise and knowledge to a the students and KASNEB Foundation scheme beneficiaries with a view to fostering the latter‘s career and personal development.
Mentors lead by example through his/her expertise or success.
Mentee- This will be kasneb students and KASNEB Foundation Scheme beneficiaries who will be guided and supported by a more experienced individual in the field of interest and area of competency building in order to promote continuous personal development and realization of their full potential.

KASNEB Foundation Internship Program
The KASNEB Foundation Internship program brings together passion and purpose. Our internship program gives our scheme beneficiaries an opportunity to gain technical on-the-job skills and grow their soft skills through partnership with various governmental, County governments, Public and private institutions. The exposure at various working positions is also a huge plus as interns get direct exposure to employees from different fields. As interns are automatically added to the talent pool, they enjoy priority selection for new roles along with the rest of the staff.
Sustainability
The Foundation will promote institutional ownership of Induction, Mentorship and Coaching Programmes through partnership &n collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure sustainability. This will require synergy and drawing on linkages with other relevant state and non -state stakeholders for an all-round development of the mentees.
